Improving Communications - TEXT MESSAGING
If you have a mobile number registered with the practice you will already have received a text message to ask your permission to use this method of communication with you.
We are hoping that we can encourage as many patients as possible to provide us with a mobile contact number so that we can extend the range of ways that we can communicate with you.
Initially we are using the service to send out appointment reminders in a bid to reduce the level of patients who fail to attend an appointment and do not ring us to cancel. For the year to March 2011 this was around 180 patients a month and if these had been available to other patients it would have meant over 40 extra appointments available every week!
In the future we are looking to extend this service to other areas such as informing patients of test results.
